STATEHOUSE (Feb. 22, 2016) —The Indiana House of Representatives unanimously voted today in support of a bill sponsored by State Rep. Denny Zent (R-Angola) that would expedite the issuance or renewal of professional licenses held by military spouses in Indiana.

“Spouses who move across state lines with their husband or wife serving in the military face complicated state licensing requirements that pose significant administrative and financial burdens,” Zent said. “We want to remove any burdens that military families face if they are stationed in Indiana.”

Zent said Senate Bill 219, which was authored by State Sen. Susan Glick (R-LaGrange), would require certain profession and occupation boards to expedite procedures dealing with the issuance or renewal of licenses, certificates, registration or permits to a military spouse whose partner is assigned to a duty station in Indiana.
