Rep. Ubelhor's Employee Representation Campaign Bill Passes the House
STATEHOUSE- Rep. Ubelhor's (R-Bloomfield) Employee Representation Campaign bill passed the House today by a vote of 60 to 33 and will now move to the Senate for consideration.
House Bill 1203 specifies that an individual has the right to vote by secret ballot and the employer has the right to participate in an election campaign. The only exceptions to this would be issues that conflict with the National Labor Relations Act or another law in regards to labor relations and organizations.
"This bill provides protection from intimidation from any source in the event of an election for employee representation. It also guarantees that all information is available to the employee from both the union and the corporation. It guarantees the right to a secret ballot," said Rep. Ubelhor.
