STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Rep. Matt Ubelhor (R-Bloomfield) was appointed to two different House committees: Ways & Means and Natural Resources. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
“It is an honor to serve my district by assuming an active role on these two committees,” said Rep. Ubelhor. “This session we will be examining our state’s budget, and I look forward to the work that will take place to ensure that Indiana continues to live within its means and practice fiscal responsibility and integrity.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
