Rep. Speedy: Marion County students gaining experience with the legislature

STATEHOUSE (March 4, 2016) – State Rep. Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis) welcomes Marion County residents, Evan Dant and Madison Quick, to the Statehouse where they are interning with the House of Representatives during the 2016 legislative session.

Dant, a resident of Indianapolis, is the son of Greg and Liz Dant. A Roncalli High School graduate, Dant currently attends the University of Indianapolis where he is majoring in political science.

As a legislative intern, Dant corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails. He also helps staff committee hearings and floor proceedings.

Quick, a resident of Indianapolis, is the daughter W. Brian and Carey Quick. A Franklin Central High School graduate, Quick attends Indiana State University where she is majoring in communications.

As an intern in the House Majority Communications Office, Quick helps write press releases, create legislative handouts and set up press conferences.

The House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
