STATEHOUSE (March 2, 2020) – Zionsville High School graduate Amy Cordill is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Donna Schaibley (R-Carmel) and her fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2020 legislative session.
Cordill, a Zionsville resident, is the daughter of Jeff and Jane Cordill. She is attending Purdue University and majoring in communications.
“Interning with the House of Representatives is an incredible experience,” Cordill said. “I have been able to work on my writing and design skills and build my professional network. The opportunities I have been given here will be extremely useful in propelling me into the next stage of my career.”
As a communications intern, Cordill works alongside press secretaries and members to help write press releases, create legislative handouts and assist with media relations.
“Throughout the legislative session, students like Amy learn professional skills they will be able to use in their next job,” Schaibley said. “I am always excited to work with students from our community who show interest in public service, and I look forward to seeing Amy continue to grow and succeed.”
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
