STATEHOUSE (Feb. 26, 2018) — A Zionsville High School graduate is gaining experience as an intern with the House of Representatives during the 2018 legislative session.
Paul Bennett, a resident of Zionsville, is the son of Jack and Cindy Bennett. He attends Purdue University where he is earning his bachelor’s degree in political science.
As a legislative intern, Bennett corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
“My colleagues and I rely on our interns and value their hard work,“ State Rep. Donna Schaibley (R-Carmel) said. “This internship is not only an amazing opportunity for young people to gain experience in the field, but also offers representatives the chance to connect with students from our communities.”
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
