Rep. Ober honors Flint & Walling with resolution
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 9, 2016) – Indiana State Rep. Dave Ober (R-Albion) honored Flint & Walling Inc. with a resolution celebrating 150 years in business.
Flint & Walling began operations in 1866 in Kendallville in the water systems industry. The business is still at the corner of Mitchell and Oak streets, where it first built hand-operated water pumps and the Flint & Walling windmill, a product that quickly spanned the globe.
“This company continues to employ Hoosiers in an extremely specialized field,” Ober said. “Flint & Walling is a responsible company that has been an invaluable asset to Kendallville,” Ober added. “The company continues to support the community though educational and charitable programs.”
Flint & Walling is the only pump company that manufactures its own 4-inch submersible motors, jet pump motors and centrifugal pump motors. It employs 150 workers, several of whom are third and fourth generation employees.
Rep. Ober (R-Albion) represents portions of Allen, Elkhart, LaGrange, Noble and Whitley counties. He serves as the Assist. Majority Whip.
