STATEHOUSE (Feb. 16, 2018) — A Roncalli High School graduate is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Cindy Kirchhofer (R-Beech Grove) and her fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2018 legislative session.
Dolan Monroe, a resident of Beech Grove, is the son of Perry and Amy Monroe. He is a sophomore at Indiana University working toward a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
As a legislative intern, Monroe corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
“Dolan is a dedicated, bright young person, and it’s encouraging to see him so involved in the legislative process,” Kirchhofer said. “During session, interns are critical to House floor proceedings. This internship is a great chance for students to learn and experience how our state government operates. All students should consider applying for this unique opportunity.”
