STATEHOUSE – House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced State Representative Cindy Kirchhofer (R-Beech Grove) as the Vice Chairwoman of the Public Health Committee for the upcoming session. Committee chairs and caucus leaders are appointed biennially by the Speaker after each election.

“I am honored to be appointed Vice Chairwoman of the Public Health Committee,” said Rep. Kirchhofer. “I believe my background as a risk manager with Franciscan Alliance will be a great asset in my new role. With public safety as a major focus in the 2015 agenda, I am confident we will find meaningful solutions to pressing public health concerns.”

Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.

Rep. Kirchhofer (R-Beech Grove) represents portions of Marion County.
