(STATEHOUSE)- Rep. Doug Gutwein (R-Francesville) offered the following statement about today's passage of House Bill 1001, the budget bill:
"While the process could have been smoother, I believe the General Assembly delivered a budget Hoosier taxpayers should be happy with," said Rep. Gutwein. "I supported the budget because it does not set the state up for any tax increases, makes no cuts to K-12 education and keeps over $1 billion in the state's reserves. The budget will allow the reinstatement of homestead deductions for local taxpayers whose properties are in Limited Liability Company, trust, etc. as well as funds that will to help stimulate the Hoosier economy. Overall, I'm pleased with today's results."
