Rep. Culver supports state’s biennial budget and tourism funding
EDITOR’S NOTE: Please include the following statements from State Representative Wes Culver (R-Goshen) in response to the passing of the state’s biennial budget:
STATEHOUSE - “I supported House Bill 1001, Indiana’s biennial budget, as it keeps education our top priority and creates the largest increase to education funding in our state’s history. Additionally, our budget invests $59 million in new money to help reduce recidivism and support community correction programs all while remaining true to our values of fiscal integrity.
“As a co-chair for the Tourism Caucus and strong advocate for attracting tourism to our community, I was proud to see that over $12 million was allotted for the Office of Tourism and other tourism initiatives during the biennium. Tourism is critical to our state and local economies and this additional funding will support job creation, help increase state revenue and showcases our great state.”
