STATEHOUSE – State Representative Tony Cook (R-Cicero) welcomed several international students from Taylor University to the Indiana Statehouse. The students are studying in Indiana as part of a collaborative partnership between Taylor University and Lithuania’s LCC International University.
“In an ever-evolving global marketplace, it is more important now than ever before that Hoosiers stay engaged internationally and foster wide-reaching partnerships,” said Rep. Cook. “In welcoming these students to the Statehouse, I’m pleased that our community is attracting people from all across the world, which allows us to not only learn about other cultures, but also showcase some of the tremendous opportunities that exist in our state.”
During their visit, the students were able to take a personalized tour of the Statehouse, including the House Chamber, the governor’s office and the Indiana Supreme Court, to name a few. Following the tour, Rep. Cook discussed the function of state government, the merits of our legislative system and several policy issues facing the Indiana General Assembly.
