STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Representative Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis) was re-appointed to three committees including one vice chairmanship.
Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
Rep. Speedy was re-appointed to serve on the following committees: Roads and Transportation (Vice Chairman), Employment, Labor and Statistics and Financial Institutions.
“I appreciate the confidence the Speaker has in me and I am eager to continue to fulfill my position as vice chairman of Roads and Transportation,” said Rep. Speedy. “Our infrastructure is integral part of Hoosiers’ daily lives and I look forward to hearing from constituents and experts in order to make Indiana even better in this regard.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
