This recent ranking is the latest of a series of accolades for Indiana’s business climate. Indiana was ranked 6th in the nation for its business climate according to Site Selection magazine published in Sept. 2011 and Indiana is one of 9 states that now have a triple-A credit rating from all 3 agencies as reported by Standard & Poor’s, Fitch, and Moody’s.
So what does this mean for Hoosiers?
This means more jobs for Hoosiers. A growing business climate enables employers to come to the state to do business or expand existing business which brings job openings to Hoosiers. Indiana is outpacing the nation in job growth and has seen private sector jobs grow by 5.3 percent since the 2009 low point of employment in the state, compared to the growth of 3 percent nationally.
