STATEHOUSE-Rep. Cindy Kirchhofer (R-Beech Grove) was assigned to two interim study committees in order to better address issues facing Hoosiers statewide. Those committees include the Indiana Veterans' Affairs Commission and Indiana Commission for Women.

"Session may be out, but our work serving the people doesn't stop on sine die," said Rep. Kirchhofer. "I'm looking forward to the work that lies ahead of us with these committees.
"Interim study committees play an important role in the legislative process because they help us further study issues in order to be more prepared for the 2012 legislative session."
The following information includes a brief description of each interim study committee Rep. Kirchhofer will be working with over the next few months.
Indiana Veterans' Affairs Commission
- Establish a policy for the investment of the assets of the Military Family Relief Fund, while considering the immediate needs of veterans and their families with the knowledge that those needs are not currently addressed by relief fund
- Establish a self-sustaining fund that is not dependent on legislative sources of funding
- Acquire money for the fund through the solicitation of private or public donations and other revenue producing activities
Indiana Commission for Women
- Assess the needs of Indiana women and their families with the intent to promote full participation of Indiana women in all aspects of society
