STATEHOUSE- House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) is supporting National School Choice Week, January 22-28. National School Choice Week was established as a means to raise awareness and advocate for many of the education reforms passed by the Indiana General Assembly in 2011.
“Last session, Indiana led the nation in the education reform by expanding the charter school authorization process and having the most aggressive school voucher program in the nation,” said Speaker Bosma. “I fully support the efforts of National School Choice Week to bring awareness regarding these types of education reforms to other states.”
The mission of National School Choice Week is to bring attention to the array of possible educational options for children through a variety of events occurring across the country. Thousands of participants will attend these events, which are being put on by more than 150 state and national organizations that see a need for education reform in America.
“All students deserve the chance to receive a high quality education regardless of income or zip code. It is essential that we give students the opportunities they need to be successful,” said Speaker Bosma. “I encourage anyone who believes a parent should be empowered to choose the educational environment that will best meet the needs of their child to support National School Choice Week.”
