STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced updates to the House Republican committee assignments after former Rep. Suzanne Crouch (R-Evansville) was sworn in as the new State Auditor on Jan. 2, 2014.
“I was thrilled that one of our veteran team leaders was selected as Indiana’s next State Auditor. Suzanne served as the Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and on Public Health. She will certainly be missed as a member of our Caucus and a fiscal leader on our Ways and Means Committee, but with change comes opportunity,” said Speaker of the House Brian Bosma.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and consider amendments to proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“I am confident in the abilities of the legislators named to their new roles with the committees. I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles within our caucus,” said Speaker Bosma.
