STATEHOUSE – State Representative Dave Ober (R-Albion) presented the family of Mr. Don Moore with a Sagamore of the Wabash award today, the most prestigious award given by the Office of Governor Mike Pence.
Rep. Ober presented the award to Mr. Moore’s family during a ceremony at the Kendallville American Legion. The award honors the late Don Moore for his service to country and community.
“Don’s dedication to his family, his country and his businesses demonstrated the highest level of Hoosier values,” Rep. Ober said. “Don distinguished himself as a strong pillar of our community, and his memory deserves the highest recognition Indiana has to offer.”
Mr. Moore was an army intelligence analyst in the Vietnam War and an entrepreneur operating two small businesses, Don Moore Productions and Minuteman Mowing Services. He also worked as general manager and radio personality for WAWK AM 1140. He served as Noble County Council President, Chamber of Commerce President, Downtown Kendallville Merchants President, and Commander of American Legion Post 86.
“We need more people like Don – people who invest heavily in their families, communities and businesses,” Rep. Ober said. “This award symbolizes the impact his legacy made on all who knew him. His passion for life was unequaled, and I can think of no better way to honor his memory than with a Sagamore of the Wabash.”
Rep. David Ober represents all of Noble County and portions of Allen, Elkhart, LaGrange and Whitley counties.
