Rep. Ober attends groundbreaking ceremony
STATEHOUSE –State Representative Dave Ober (R-Albion) attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
“I am glad I had the opportunity to be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony,” said Rep. Ober. “The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum is a great asset to Northeast Indiana, and I look forward to seeing the economic benefits this new addition will bring to our community.”
A bill sponsored by Rep. Ober in the 2014 legislative session made the expansion possible. Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 308 permitted Allen County to extend the expiration date of its Professional Sports Development Area to allow for more time and revenue to be put towards the coliseum. The expansion will create an additional 50,000 square feet providing more space for the facility to host expos, job fairs and trade shows.
“The War Memorial Coliseum has had a valuable impact on our local economy,” said Rep. Ober. “Expanding this facility adds opportunities to attract more business and tourism to Allen County and the surrounding communities.”
Rep. Ober represents all of Noble County and portion of Allen, Elkhart, LaGrange and Whitley counties.
