Representative Milo Smith (R-Columbus) urges Hoosier students to apply for page positions during this session of the Indiana General Assembly. The 65th gathering of the General Assembly reconvened on January 8, 2007 and ends on April 28, 2007.
¿I would like to encourage all students across Bartholomew and Johnson Counties to take advantage of this worthwhile opportunity,¿ said Rep. Smith. ¿The Statehouse Page Program not only provides a rich learning environment for students, but a detailed look into the legislative process of how laws are created in the state.¿
A day at the Statehouse for pages includes activities such as tours of the statehouse, attending floor sessions and committee meetings, and working alongside House staff. Any student 13 years of age or older should contact Statehouse staff via the information provided below. Availability is limited, so students should apply as soon as possible.
Students interested in paging at the statehouse can contact the Indiana House of Representatives Page office at 1-800-382-9841 or visit the House Republican Page request web site at http://www.in.gov/legislative/house_republicans/student/pageindex.html for more information.
