Property tax issues dominated the conversations Saturday, where local residents sought out clarification of Gov. Mitch Daniels' property tax plan. "The plan the Governor has come up with is a good start to eliminating Indiana's dependence on property taxes," said Rep. Burton. "Property taxes are a complicated issue and it's good to come out and talk to people about their concerns. I hope I've shed some light on the issue for my constituents." Education, mortgage foreclosures, and illegal immigration were among other topics discussed at the meetings. Rep Burton will be working this session to push for a more diverse and expanded high school education system, one that encourages and rewards students studying all backgrounds and interests. The next meeting will be today, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Whiteland Town Hall, 401 Mooreland Dr. The fourth meeting will be Thursday Nov. 15th from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Greenwood City Building, 2 N Madison Ave. Rep.
