Dear Editor, There has been a great deal of discussion in our area about the proposed expansion of Clark-Pleasant Schools. Most recently, a number of people in the community have somehow gotten the impression that I have been involved in this process and that I have "taken sides" on the issue. This is not the case. Some time ago, Senator Patricia Miller and I were asked to attend a school board meeting on the subject. I attended this meeting for informational purposes and decided that because it was a local school board issue, it was not my place, as a state legislator, to become involved. Although I understand the need for more classrooms with the growth of housing development in the Clark-Pleasant Township area, I have in no way taken a stance on this issue. I am leaving it up to the school board members who were elected to make these decisions. However, I am still willing to listen to all parties' concerns and will attend future meetings on the issue, while remaining neutral on the subject. Sincerely, Representative Woody Burton |
