Connersville resident receives high-status
WorkOne Achievement Award

STATEHOUSE – State Representative Cindy Ziemke (R-Batesville) congratulates James Rhoads from Connersville for receiving the WorkOne Achievement Award. In a ceremony Tuesday, 12 Hoosier companies and 12 individuals were recognized for their commitment to job creation as well as utilizing WorkOne’s available resources for exceptional career development and personal advancement.

Following his completion of an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Rhoads went to Work One for job search assistance. He utilized workshops, online training and WorkKeys skills assessment testing to help him gain a competitive advantage when looking for a job. Rhoads got a job with Stolle Tool as a CNC Programmer/Machinist and has received two promotions during his first year on the job.

“James has shown how hard work and dedication to self improvement can pay off,” said Rep. Ziemke. “I hope other Hoosiers take note and follow his example.”
WorkOne is the heart of workforce development committed to connecting Hoosiers with available positions as well as providing access to career training opportunities through one of their 11 regional offices. With the state’s unemployment hovering above 8 percent, WorkOne is fighting to bring that number down by hosting annual career fairs and events to improve the lives of Hoosiers.

One of those events is the WorkOne Achievement Award ceremony which honored James Rhoads and 11 other individuals for their dedication to improving their lives through WorkOne education, training and employment services. Twelve employers were also honored for their faithful job creation and personal advancement opportunities for Hoosiers.

“WorkOne is an incredibly valuable resource,” said Rep. Ziemke. “Helping people become develop the skills necessary for them to get back to work is the key to improving their lives and the lives of their families.”

The awards were presented by Department of Workforce Development Commissioner Scott B. Sanders at the Indiana Statehouse.
