STATEHOUSE- House Republican Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee member appointments for the Indiana House Republican caucus today. Rep. Tom Saunders (R-Lewisville) was appointed as a member of the following House committees for the 117th Indiana General Assembly:

- Local Government
- Natural Resources
- Roads and Transportation
- Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation   "I appreciate the Speaker for the opportunity to serve on these committees and I look forward to getting to work come January," said Rep. Saunders today. "I have interest in all of these committees and feel that I can contribute in a way that will benefit all Hoosiers. "One of our main goals this session is to make government at all levels transparent to the taxpayers. In order to do so, we need to require local governments to provide the public with information-budget, debt services and revenue sources to name a few-as one solution." In addition to serving these committees, Rep. Saunders serves as the Assistant Caucus Chair for the House Republicans. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process.  Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
