House Bill 1123 requires a sign to be displayed where the school zone begins, indicating the reduced speed limit for the school zone and another sign at the end of the school zone, indicating the end of the school zone. "Motorists need to be properly warned when they are in a school zone, when the school zone ends and the designated speed limit that is in effect," said Rep. Cherry. "Most of Indiana schools already have properly displayed school zone signs. We just needed legislation to make that statewide." Rep. Cherry may be reached by e-mail at h53@IN.gov, by phone at 1-800-382-9841 or by mail at the Statehouse, 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
