STATEHOUSE — House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced updates to the House Republican committee assignments after two new members joined the caucus.
State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) has been appointed to serve on the Committee on Joint Rules. He is also the Budget Subcommittee Chairman on the Ways and Means Committee and serves on the Local Government Committee, Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee and Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Committee on Joint Rules in addition to my other committee appointments,” said Rep. Cherry. “These committees play an important part in the legislative process, and I look forward to the work we will do in the upcoming session.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
