STATEHOUSE — House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced updates to the House Republican committee assignments.
State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) has been appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. He is also on the Committee on Joint Rules, the Local Government Committee, Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee and Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.
“I am honored by my appointment as the Vice Chairman of Ways and Means,” said Rep. Cherry. “This committee plays an important part in the legislative process and works to maintain Indiana’s fiscal integrity, which is critical to continuing to attract jobs and economic development. I look forward to the work we will do to keep Indiana on the right track.”
The House Ways and Means Committee is charged with overseeing fiscal issues and spearheading a balanced budget for the state of Indiana. For the past three years, Rep. Cherry served as Budget Subcommittee Chairman of Ways and Means.
