STATEHOUSE -The Town of Fremont and the Town of Waterloo have been approved for federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG).

Fremont has been granted $500,000 for downtown revitalization purposes. Waterloo has been granted $600,000 to improve sewer infrastructure.

"I am pleased to see the federal and state government recognizes the value of our small towns," said Rep. Dick Dodge (R-Pleasant Lake). "This is a large sum of money that will be put to good use. I believe that the citizens of Fremont and Waterloo share the same enthusiasm as I do."

The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) is responsible for managing the CDBG grant requests made by Indiana communities and administers the grant funding as well.

Rep. Dodge and Lt. Governor Skillman are hosting a CDBG ceremony for grant recipients on Wednesday, January 26 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
