(STATEHOUSE) October 22, 2007 - State Representative Dick Dodge (R-Pleasant Lake) has been visiting schools throughout Steuben and De Kalb Counties, educating students about state government. Representative Dodge visited Angola High School, Fremont High School and Lakewood Park Christian High School.
"Understanding all of the different levels of government can be confusing," said Rep. Dodge. "I have been speaking with area students, explaining the different components of state government and answering questions. I have really enjoyed meeting so many young people and hearing what they all have to say."
The National Conference of State Legislators supports and encourages legislators across the country to participate in their America's Legislators Back to School Program. It provides legislators the opportunity to meet personally with their youngest constituents and teach them what it's like to be a state legislator: the process, the pressures and the very fabric of representative democracy.
Rep. Dodge encourages local constituents to contact him with questions or concerns through e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling the Statehouse toll-free at 1-800-382-9841. It is also possible to write him at 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
