STATEHOUSE - Rep. Dick Dodge (R-Pleasant Lake) announced that Angola qualifies for a $2.5 million grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This money will be used to finance projects to improve the city's wastewater system.
This is one of the state's first stimulus water projects to be announced.
"This grant would contribute to modernizing Angola's wastewater treatment plant," said Rep. Dodge. "I am pleased the state recognizes Angola's needs and will, I hope, give the full qualified amount."
The recovery act will distribute approximately $125 million to the Indiana State Revolving Fund. This fund is an existing program managed by the Indiana Finance Authority which makes loans to communities for wastewater and drinking water projects.
