STATEHOUSE - Bids are being placed and accepted for work on local roads in DeKalb County, state Rep. Dick Dodge (R-Pleasant Lake) said today. The work is for asphalt resurfacing on county and municipal roads.
"I am pleased DeKalb County is receiving federal stimulus money to update our roads and doing it so quickly," said Rep. Dick Dodge. "These projects will create jobs and put Hoosiers to work. Traveling and commuting around the county will be, literally, a much smoother ride."
Here are the DeKalb County projects, all of which are scheduled for completion by September 30, 2009:
# On Wayne Street from Cedar Street to Walnut Street.
# On North Commerce Drive from the Railroad tracks to Lincoln Street.
# On Center Street from U.S. 6 to Rope Street.
# On Rope Street from Center Street to State Road 427.
# On Walnut Street from Albright Street to County Road 39.
# On Walnut Street from Center Street to Wayne Street.
Here is the DeKalb County project, which is scheduled for completion by October 30, 2009:
# On County Road 40 from State Road 1 to the Ohio state line.
Here are the DeKalb County projects, all of which are scheduled for completion by October 31, 2009:
# On Auburn Drive from Diehl Drive to Wayne Street.
# On Main Street from Gates Cove to County.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the request for bids is in anticipation of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
