[r49] Rep. Culver Comments On Governor's State of the State Address (1/13/2009)

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Start Date: 1/13/2009 All Day
End Date: 1/13/2009
State Rep. Wes Culver offered the following statement in response to Gov. Mitch Daniels' State of the State address:

"Gov. Daniels' speech this evening showed Hoosiers that the Indiana Legislature will continue to focus on protecting taxpayers. It's clear that this recession is hitting the state hard. This is a difficult time for everyone, and the General Assembly needs to do what it can to protect hard-working Hoosiers. Job creation needs to be our first priority. However, we legislators need to work on multiple issues simultaneously. Too often we have heard legislators say, 'we can only focus on one major issue at a time.' This is nonsense. We are elected to help guide Indiana, and the state has hundreds of important issues. We have the time, and we need to deal with all of them."

Rep. Culver encourages local constituents to contact him with questions or concerns through e-mail at h49@in.gov, or by calling the Statehouse toll-free at 1-800-382-9841.  It is also possible to write him at 200 W. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
