STATEHOUSE - "When I was first elected for this office I knew that I would have to sacrifice time with my family, time from my work, and personal time, but I did it because I knew we would be working in the Statehouse to make Indiana a better place for families to live, companies to operate, and children to be educated. The actions of the House Democrats today to leave the Statehouse are disappointing. We have legislation that is vital to protecting Hoosiers and encouraging job growth in Indiana that is now stalled.

"There are a lot of misconceptions about Right to Work legislation. We are not attempting to dispose of unions in Indiana, or defund pension accounts, or take away workers right to organize under a union. What we are doing is simply giving workers more rights by giving them the choice to not pay union dues if they do not belong to a union."
