Rep. Price listens to mass transit testimony
STATEHOUSE- The Central Indiana Transit Study Committee had its fourth meeting Thursday. October 31. As a member of this committee, State Representative John Price (R-Greenwood) was eager to hear testimony given both for and against mass transit.
“I truly value our legislative process and enjoy hearing both sides of any argument during interim study committees,” said Rep. Price. “This is a great opportunity for experts and concerned citizens to voice their opinions on upcoming legislation.”
Many people testified to the central Indiana regional transit initiative including Michael Terry and Ron Gifford, President and CEO of IndyGo and Executive Director of Indy Connect Now, respectively. Jim Landers, Director of the Office of Fiscal Management and Analysis also reported on available local resources.
“Interim study committees are essential to our legislative process and I value the input of every person or group that comes to testify,” said Rep. Price. “I am looking forward to upcoming meetings on this issue and learning more and more about the potential effects of mass transit in my district.”
This was the fourth meeting for the Central Indiana Transit Study Committee. Two more are to be scheduled. The next upcoming meeting will be November 21 at 9:00 A.M. in Room 431 of the Statehouse, 200 W. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN.
