STATEHOUSE- House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
State Rep. John Price (R-Greenwood) has been appointed Chairman of the Local Government Committee, which is responsible for dealing with matters that directly affect cities, towns and counties throughout Indiana.
“I am humbled to be appointed as Chairman of the Local Government Committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues as well as officeholders around the state to address issues facing local government and Indiana’s communities,” said Rep. Price.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“With many issues impacting local government, listening to local leaders and hearing input from the public is essential to addressing the problems they are facing,” said Rep. Price. “I look forward to bringing state and local leaders together to find solutions, and it is an honor to serve my community and state while working towards this goal.”
