"While I do support the bill, more could have been done," said Rep. Turner. "The bill has been watered down. It fails to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving state benefits or in state tuition to our colleges and universities, which I believe should be reserved for the people who are lawfully here. In addition, it does not require the law enforcement to investigate whether or not a person is an illegal immigrant if they are charged with a felony.
