Rep. Eric Turner selected to leadership roles
STATEHOUSE –Speaker of the House Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced that State Representative P. Eric Turner (R-Cicero) will continue to be the Speaker Pro Tempore for the Indiana House of Representatives for the 118th General Assembly.
The Speaker Pro Tem is charged with frequently leading official business on the House floor and gaveling bills through the legislative process. The Speaker Pro Tem is the second presiding officer in the Indiana House of Representatives and exercises all the powers and carries out all the duties of the Speaker in his absence.
“Rep. Turner has been an exemplary leader in our Caucus for the past decade,” said Speaker Bosma. “He has served the people of Indiana with integrity for many years. I have every confidence that he will serve to his fullest potential as the Speaker Pro Tem for the Indiana House of Representatives.”
Rep. Turner has been a leading budget negotiator for House Republicans and will continue in that role as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, a group appointed to craft the new two-year state budget as well as an alternate member of the State Budget Committee. He was also appointed to serve as a member of Public Health Committee and the Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.
Rep. Turner represents House District 32 which includes portions of Delaware Grant, Hamilton, Howard, Madison and Tipton counties.
