(STATEHOUSE) Dec. 11, 2008 - State Representative Tom Dermody (R-LaPorte) was named to the House Ways and Means Committee by Republican Leader Brian C. Bosma. The committee is primarily responsible for assembling the state's biannual budget. Rep. Dermody will serve on this committee for the next two years.
"I'm very honored to be appointed to Ways and Means, because that's where the state budget begins." said Rep. Dermody. "I'm prepared to work hard and deliver Hoosiers an honestly balanced budget. These are difficult economic times. It's going to be essential that both sides come together to create a budget that meets the needs of Hoosier families."
