STATEHOUSE — House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced standing committee assignments today for the 119th General Assembly. Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election.
Rep. Sharon Negele (R-Attica) has been appointed to serve on the Financial Institutions and Ways and Means Committees.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know they are all eager to begin their work,” said Speaker Bosma.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“Crafting an honestly balanced budget is fundamental to ensuring that Indiana’s fiscal climate remains strong and continues to grow,” said Rep. Negele. “This session, I will work with my colleagues on Ways and Means to make sure that we live within our means while managing our state’s finances responsibly. This will increase stability and strengthen our economy for future generations of Hoosiers.”
