STATEHOUSE – Doug Keenan, pastor of the Ritter Berean Baptist Church in Albion, led the Indiana House of Representatives in prayer from the House floor Tuesday. Pastor Keenan was asked to lead the House’s invocation by State Representative Dave Albion (R-Albion) as a part of the “Pastor of the Day” program.

“I appreciate Pastor Keenan making the trip to Indianapolis to share his wisdom and inspirational words,” said Rep. Ober. “Having a minister lead the House in a prayer before each day of session starts us out with the right mindset and focus.”

Members of the House of Representatives invite religious leaders from their communities to start the legislative proceedings with a prayer before the opening of session each day. It is not only an opportunity to offer guidance to the representatives, but a chance for the leaders of Indiana's spiritual communities to visit the Statehouse, meet elect officials and witness a day of session.

Rep. Ober represents all of Noble County and portion of Allen, Elkhart, LaGrange and Whitley counties.
