STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) — State Rep. Sharon Negele (R-Attica) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code.

Negele said in the coming months, the committee will examine several topics including human trafficking and current trends in the criminal justice system.

“Summer study committees help legislators take a closer look at important, complex issues,” Negele said. “By listening to testimony from the public and reviewing what other states are doing, we can suggest what, if any, legislative action needs to be taken next session.”

In addition, Negele will also serve on the Commission on Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises and the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Compact Commission.

Negele said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify. The list of 2018 interim study committee assignments and other legislative appointments can be found here
