STATEHOUSE (Dec. 22, 2020) – State Rep. Alan Morrison (R-Brazil) will once again serve as vice chair of the House Elections and Apportionment Committee and was recently named assistant majority floor leader for the Indiana House Republican Caucus.

"Our state is an example of how to efficiently run an election," Morrison said. "We will continue looking at ways to improve our voting system and encourage more participation while maintaining integrity."

He authored a law during the last legislative session empowering local officials to move municipal elections to even-numbered years, when national and statewide races are held, to increase voter turnout and save towns money on conducting elections.

As assistant majority floor leader, Morrison will work with caucus members on critical issues facing the state. He was also reappointed to the House Natural Resources and House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications committees.

House standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session, which is scheduled to kick off on Jan. 4.
