STATEHOUSE (Jan. 23, 2018) — State Rep. Alan Morrison (R-Brazil) today at the Statehouse honored the North Clay Middle School girls cross country team with a resolution for their victory in the Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championships.
“They are a tremendous group of young athletes and students,” Morrison said. “Our community is so very proud of their dedication to their sport and academics. With my daughter on the team, I know firsthand how much work they put into training and preparation.”
The team finished the year undefeated and clinched the state title last year in Carmel. Team members included Piper Brinkman, Tierinee Bryan, Halle Miller, Maisie Eldridge, Evie Noel, Katie Morrison and Briley Shillings, with Tim Rayle as their coach.
The Knights were able to defeat Zionsville Middle School by four points to claim the championship in the Big School division. The meet included 26 teams and 253 runners.
State Rep. Alan Morrison (R-Brazil) represents House District 42, which includes all of Vermillion County and portions of Clay, Fountain, Parke, Vigo and Warren counties.
