STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) — State Rep. Kevin Mahan (R-Hartford City) was recently selected to chair the Interim Study Committee on Government.
He said in the coming months, the committee will examine several topics including statutes governing state and local governmental public works projects.
“Study committees are vital to the legislative process,” Mahan said. “We are able to further examine assigned topics as well as hear from the public and gather input. This gives us a better understanding of a topic and what potential legislative action should be recommended.”
In addition, Mahan will serve as a member on the Board of Trustees of the Criminal Justice Institute.
Mahan said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
