STATEHOUSE (Nov. 17, 2017) — State Rep. Kevin Mahan (R-Hartford City) participated in the ‘Educator for a Day’ program at Eastbrook North Elementary on Friday.
Mahan spent the day in a classroom, shadowing fifth grade teacher Shelia Weiland and helping students during a geography lesson. Mahan met with several educators and answered questions about education policies, following the class visit.
“Spending the day with students and teachers is both a rewarding and eye-opening experience,” Mahan said. “Every school I visit operates so differently, and it’s important to engage with educators to see what they face every day. Our community is lucky to have teachers like Mrs. Weiland who are passionate about helping students succeed inside and outside of the classroom.”
State Rep. Kevin Mahan represents House District 31, which includes
Blackford County and portions of Delaware, Grant and Wells counties.
