STATEHOUSE (March 29, 2019) — Longstanding Grant County businesses recently received the Governor’s Half Century or Century Business Award, according to State Rep. Kevin Mahan (R-Hartford City).

“These five Marion businesses have been serving our community for over 50 years,” Mahan said. “It requires great determination to not only start a business, but also to sustain it for generations. Each of these organizations should be very proud of this accomplishment.”

These Grant County businesses were among 65 Indiana companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business awards at a Statehouse ceremony on March 21:

  • Gorman & Bunch Orthodontics, which has been in business for 57 years, received the Governor’s Half Century Business Award;
  • Insurance Management Group, which has been in business for 144 years, received the Governor’s Century Business Award;
  • Peerless Printing Corp., which has been in business for 118 years, received the Governor’s Century Business Award;
  • WBAT-AM, which has been in business for 72 years, received the Governor’s Half Century Business Award; and
  • WXXC-FM, which has been in business for 71 years, received the Governor’s Half Century Business Award.

The awards recognize Hoosier businesses that have remained in continuous operation in Indiana for at least 50 or 100 consecutive years and demonstrated a commitment to serving the community.
