Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Cindy Kirchhofer (R-Beech Grove), chair of the House Public Health Committee, in your coverage of Jim McClelland’s announced retirement. McClelland serves as the state’s executive director for drug prevention, treatment and enforcement:

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 7, 2019) – “Jim has been a keystone in the state’s efforts to combat the drug crisis. Under his leadership, the number of opioid prescriptions dropped drastically, and many struggling with addiction are now receiving much-needed, life-saving treatment. His passion for helping Hoosiers beat addiction and begin their journey to a healthier life has fostered real change for many families. While his leadership will be greatly missed, we will continue the fight against addiction.”
