Note to the press: Please include the following statements from State Reps. Tony Cook (R-Cicero), Chuck Goodrich (R-Noblesville), Donna Schaibley (R-Carmel) and Jerry Torr (R-Carmel) in your coverage of State Rep. Todd Huston (R-Fishers) being sworn in as Indiana House speaker:

STATEHOUSE (March 9, 2020) – "Since I came to the Statehouse in 2014, Todd quickly became a friend and mentor to me," Cook said. "I am confident he is ready to take on this tremendous responsibility following Speaker Bosma's retirement."

"From serving as co-chair of the House Ways and Means Committee to mentoring freshmen members, Todd has proven himself to be leader, which will help him as he transitions into this new role," Goodrich said.

"Todd is uniquely qualified to take on this role, as he has a reputation for helping lead our chamber with integrity and grace," Schaibley said. "He is the ideal candidate to take over for Speaker Bosma and continue our history of civility and respectable decorum all while working through issues that matter most to Hoosiers."

"It has been a pleasure to work with and watch Todd thrive as he has become an effective leader in our chamber," Torr said. "He has risen to the challenge to take on this prestigious role, and will carry on Speaker Bosma's legacy in keeping Indiana on the right path."
