FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                                                Sept. 12, 2016

STATEHOUSE (Sept. 12, 2016) – State Rep. Jeff Ellington (R-Bloomington) received an award for conservative excellence from the American Conservative Union Foundation in its 2016 ratings of the Indiana General Assembly.

Ellington received a perfect score for voting most consistently with the ideals articulated in the U.S. Constitution: limited and transparent government, individual rights and personal responsibility. The foundation researches and selects a range of bills that determine a member’s adherence to conservative principles, and issues a yearly scorecard for all 50 state legislative bodies.

“Representing our community’s conservative and fiscally responsible ideals, which mirror my own values, is what I strive for as your state representative,” Ellington said. “I’m proud to receive this distinction and will continue to support conservative policies at the Statehouse.”

According to the foundation, 39 state representatives and 21 state senators in Indiana scored between 90 and 100 percent. This marks the fifth year the group rated the General Assembly.

Rep. Jeff Ellington (R-Bloomington) represents House District 62,

which includes portions of Greene, Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.
