STATEHOUSE (June 21, 2018) — Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch presented a Golden Hoosier Award to LeRoy Rothrock of Bloomington at the Statehouse Thursday for his service and commitment to the community, according to State Rep. Jeff Ellington (R-Bloomington).
Rothrock has devoted more than 60 years to making his community a better place by working with the Hoosier Hills Food Bank, Wheeler Mission, the Hannah Center, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Twin Lakes Recreation Center and Clear Creek Christian Church.
“Mr. Rothrock assists with operations, custodial work, carpentry work, fundraising, donation collections and helps with special events,” Ellington said. “He leads by example pitching in and helping wherever he can. His selection as a Golden Hoosier is well deserved and I thank him for his dedication to our community.”
The lieutenant governor’s office accepts nominations each year for the Golden Hoosier Awards. The award recognizes outstanding Hoosiers for their lifetime of service to their communities, and is the highest honor bestowed on those in Indiana who are at least 65 years old.
State Rep. Jeff Ellington represents House District 62, which includes
portions of Greene, Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.
